Born and raised on the island of Tobago, Pearl Joefield learned to cook by closely watching her mother, Ma Albertine, command the kitchen. It is through her time making with her mother that Pearl learned to appreciate traditional cooking techniques to prepare some of the most widely beloved treats on the island.
Today, from her home kitchen, Pearl Joefield preserves many of the lost delicacies from the island’s Colonial past with the support of many elders in her community.

Inspired by her island heritage and loving husband, Pearl Joefield founded Joefield Enterprises in 2009. She is a champion of Tobago’s history and continues to make a wide variety of Tobago Sweets significant to the country’s culture.
From “benne balls” to “tullum”, Mrs Joefield mastered the humble art of working sugar with her own special blend of spices to the delight of many in her village. Her kitchen is her happy place and she enjoys creating fun twists on old favourites.
